Peak flows at two stream gages (on the Rio San José below Grants, NM,
and on the Arroyo Chico just above its confluence with the Rio Puerco)
exhibit a difference of flood amplitudes of about a factor of 10. The
basins are nearly of the same size and mean elevation.
