Description:
Abstract:
This data set contains boundaries of the New Mexico Senate districts that are within the perimeter of the Rio Puerco watershed basin. Some parts of the boundaries of some of the portrayed features lie outside of the Rio Puerco basin; those parts of the boundaries external to the basin are not portrayed. In these cases, the basin boundary is substituted for the external boundary. Processing software was ARC/INFO 7.1.1.

Description of Parent Data Set: It is in a vector digital data structure, digitized from a map of New Mexico whose scale is unknown. The source software used was ARC/INFO 6.1.1 and the conversion software ARC/INFO 7.0.3.

Purpose:
This data set was created to digitally represent the political boundaries of New Mexico Senate districts within the Rio Puerco basin.

Intended use of data: These data are typically used as base data for other coverages. The data are intended for use as a general reference to the extent and boundaries of the Senate legislative districts.

Supplemental_Information:
Data completeness reflect the content of the source graphic. Only New Mexico Senate district boundaries were extracted from the source graphic. The data contains all lines representing these boundaries.

NOTE: Legislative district boundaries are sometimes changed after a decennial census. Therefore, the boundaries in this coverage may not be current in future years. Users should refer to New Mexico state legislative officials or to <URL:http://legis.state.nm.us/> for more information regarding possible boundary changes.

Attribute_Accuracy:
Attribute_Accuracy_Report: Attribute accuracy for this data set is assumed to be 100%.
Logical_Consistency_Report:
Attributes and processing steps were consistent for the entire data set.
Completeness_Report:
Data completeness for unrevised digital files reflects the content of the source graphic. Features may have been eliminated or generalized on the source graphic, due to scale and legibility constraints.
Positional_Accuracy:
Horizontal_Positional_Accuracy:
Horizontal_Positional_Accuracy_Report:
Accuracy of these digital data (if not digitally revised), is based upon the use of source graphics which are compiled to meet National Map Accuracy Standards. NMAS horizontal accuracy requires that at least 90 percent of points tested are within 1/50th of an inch of the true position. Comparison to the graphic source is used as control to asses digital positional accuracy. Cartographic offsets may be present on the graphic source, due to scale and legibilty constraints. For more information on National Map Accuracy Standards, refer to USGS Fact Sheet FS-078-96 (September 1997), or visit <URL:http://mapping.usgs.gov/mac/isb/pubs/factsheets/fs07896.html>.

Process_Description:
The data set was copied from cd-rom media (RGIS 1996) onto a Sun Unix server, where it was processed with ARC/INFO 7.1.1. The data set was clipped with the perimeter of the Rio Puerco watershed basin (wshed), and reprojected from the Lambert Conformal Conic projection into Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) coordinates.
