Using ArcExplorer to View the Data Sets

The data sets in this online library can easily be displayed, queried, and printed using ArcExplorer, a free GIS Data Browser created by Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI). The following information provides instructions on downloading and viewing the data sets with ArcExplorer. For specific information on ArcExplorer, and to download the software, please visit the ArcExplorer website at http://www.esri.com/software/arcexplorer/.

Instructions for using the Rio Puerco data sets with ArcExplorer:

  1. Download ArcExplorer directly from ESRI at the ArcExplorer website.
  2. Install ArcExplorer on your system using the setup file.
  3. Browse to the Rio Puerco Online Data Library.
  4. Download the zipped shapefile of the GIS layer(s) you would like to view.
  5. Start Arc Explorer.
  6. Please refer to the help files included with ArcExplorer for specific information on using the program to view, query, and print GIS data.
