Cerro Colorado just east of the rio Puerco and just south of I-40, Section 1,
T9N, R1W, 1932.
Retake of Hunt 257; 8/5/98. No arroyo like that shown in Hunt's view could be
found in this area. Eolian activity appears prominent in this area (possibly
reflecting the movement of sand out of the Rio Puerco by this agency) and may
have "erased" this particular arroyo. Vegetation in the modern view is almost
entirely snakeweed with small clumps of Indian Ricegrass(?) and gramma, but
shrubs are more common in Hunt's photo.
