Retake Photo

Retake of Hunt 247; 6/19/98. Looking west from Cabezon Peak. Rio Puerco is visible between the viewer and the peak on right side of photo (Cerro de los Cuates) and in center of photo. The Puerco appears to have widened since 1932. Unfortunately the pillar in the center of Hunt's photo blocks view of nearest part of tributary arroyo; pillar has been toppled since then. Where the tributary arroyo meets the Rio Puerco there does not seem to have been much incision since 1932. Shrub and grass cover in foreground are similar in both views, but shrubs (Artemisia tridentata/Big Sage in modern view) seem to have been larger in 1932.
