Paleolimnology Research

Photo of sediment core

Lake sediments are natural archives of hydrologic, climatic, and environmental change.

We use the sediment records from lakes to study paleoclimate, carbon dynamics, landscape evolution, watershed dynamics and human impacts.

Current projects are underway to determine the Holocene paleohydroclimate in the Yukon River Basin and the Upper Colorado River Basin.
