Upper Colorado River Basin

The primary objective of this research is to generate longer, Holocene records (~10,000 years) of past climatic and hydrologic variability and change. Sediment cores have been retrieved from lakes on the White River and Wasatch Plateaus.

This research is a component of the USGS Climate, Land Use and Environmental Sensitivity Project.

In collaboration with Andrea Brunelle and Ph.D. student Jesse Morris (University of Utah, Records of Environment and Disturbance) and their work on fire frequency and beetle outbreaks, we obtained cores from Blue Lake and Emerald Lake on the central Wasatch Plateau.
